Jack Tany

Jack Tany has written for several local and state publications since his graduation from Central Michigan University where he majored in journalism. He is a lifelong resident of the Saginaw area and is heavily-involved in the community as a member of the Fordney Club of Saginaw County, Sons of Italy in America Scara Famiglia Lodge 2456, Saginaw Valley State University’s Cardinal Advisory Board, SVSU’s Athletic Hall of Fame, Saginaw County Commerce’s Leadership Saginaw program, Great Lakes Bay Sports Commission, and as a founding member of the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 2015.

A former sports editor, Tany wrote and self-published the book Glory, the History of Saginaw County Sports which chronicles sports in Saginaw County from 1894-2000. He currently is a Senior Account Executive at Outfront Media, an outdoor advertising firm, and since 2007 he has served as president of the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame. Tany has won a number of Michigan Press Association writing and photography awards during his career.
