Cemetery Tour: Civil War Veterans of Homer Township

In April of 1865, General Robert E. Lee's Amy of Northern Virginia surrendered and laid down their arms at of Appomattox Virginia. Lee's surrender, 120 years ago, signaled the beginning of the end of the United States Civil War. Join us to hear the stories of men like Albyn Bellinger and John C. Sias who fought in the war, and then came to Homer Township to settle and build a life. The Midland County Historical Society of the Midland Center for the Arts presents Civil War Veterans of Homer Township at the Homer Cemetery. Tour consists of costumed actors portraying veterans or veteran's family members at their gravesites. This event is a walking tour and is held rain or shine. Tours starting every 20 minutes from 1 - 2:40 PM. Tickets: $8 Public | FREE for Museum Please register via the Ticket Office for your discount. 989.631.8250.
