1968 Detroit Tiger World Series hero was in attendance at Fifth Third Field in Grand Rapids on Tuesday evening to sign autographs.    Horton would meet with the Media prior to the 50th Midwest League All-Star Game and talk about his 18 year MLB career.

Horton would then throw out the 1st Pitch of the game to start the action.   He also took time to shake hands with all of the young Midwest League All-Stars.   Horton spent 1 1/2 hours signing autographs for hundreds of his fans.

"Mr. Horton" as I call him because he was one of the star players who I followed growing up here in Michigan with the Tigers being our team.   He spent 15 years with the Tigers and was selected an All-Star four times.   He recently has battled some health issues but you could see the spring in step when he got on the field with those younger players.  He looked good and really enjoyed the evening with some baseball being played.
