The Oakland Athletics handily defeated the Cleveland Indians 13-3 at Progressive Field on the southern side of downtown Cleveland.   It was a busy day in the downtown with the City of Cleveland hosting the Cleveland Marathon that morning to be followed with the Indians vs. A's game at 1:00p.m.

Progressive Field is now going to be 20 years old this summer and will be remember for having 455 straight sell-outs when the stadium opening in 1994.   The Indians currently in last place in the Central Division of the American League are in the middle of a long slump.   They had lost the first two games of the series to the A's and were looking to come back and salvage a game on Sunday.

The Indians jumped out in front when leadoff hitter Michael Borne hit a home run on the 2nd pitch to start the game.   It was all A's after that with starting pitcher Jesse Chavez going 5 innings with 6 strikeouts.  The Athletic's were lead at the plate by Yoenis Cespedes getting 2 hits and knocking in 5 runs.   The other hot bat was Brandon Moss with 3 hits and 3 rbi's on the sunny afternoon at Progressive Field.    No I didn't see "Flo" at the game either.

The Athletics are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now along with the Detroit Tigers.   One other thing that I always enjoy is the little park that they have out in center field honoring the greatest Indians in their history.    They are honored with plagues that look just like the ones that are at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
