Creative Minds at Work by Handley Elementary K – 5 students showcase works in a variety of media, from crayon and tempera paint to cardboard multi-media.
Handley students enjoy sharing their unique artistic talents and thoughtful ideas, and through exposure to a wide range of artists and art media, they explore creativity and self-expression.
Lessons often begin with an artist or central concept, supported by slideshows and project examples for inspiration. As students advance in the program, many develop a distinctive artistic style shaped by their creative vision.
“I am always impressed with the growth of my students’ artistic skills and knowledge from kindergarten through fifth grade. I am so proud of them all,” said Rachel Price, Handley Visual Arts Specialist Teacher for the past 17 years and a proud Handley graduate. Favorite projects by students featured in the exhibition include sandpaper printmaking hearts and imaginative illustrations depicting the secret life of their pets.
