“The Saginaw Song:" A Walking Tour of Old Saginaw

Gather with Tom Trombley, Vice President & Chief Historian of Castle Museum, at the southwest corner of Hamilton & Court to over 3/4 mile with several stops along the way. This walking tour will explore the buildings and history of Saginaw's west side business district. For young Roethke, this neighborhood was within easy walking or biking distance from the family's home on Gratiot Avenue. The Roethkes had a flower shop on S. Michigan Ave, and it is where the poet's schools were located. After the tour, you are invited to return to Roethke House for desert and join in reading his poem "The Saginaw Song" $12 catered by Hamilton Bakery.
