The Art of Poetry: Visually Reimagining the Poem

Posted in: Happenings

For centuries the broadside – a printed or illustrated sheet of paper displayed in a public space – was an important means of commercial and political communication. Starting primarily in the 20th Century, poets and visual artists began to reimagine the broadside as a means of marrying their art. This exhibition features compelling examples of the form produced by nationally renowned artists and poets working with the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center as well as historical examples of the form. Admission: $5.00 for students and seniors, $7.00 for adults, Free for members and children (15 and under) Saginaw Art Museum, 1126 North Michigan Avenue Saginaw. Time: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Contact: Misty Grumbley. Email: staff@saginawartmuseum.org Phone: (989) 754-2491. Runs thru Aug. 20th.
