For centuries the broadside – a printed or illustrated sheet of paper displayed in a public space – was an important means of commercial and political communication. Starting primarily in the 20th Century, poets and visual artists began to reimagine the broadside as a means of marrying their art. This exhibition features compelling examples of the form produced by nationally renowned artists and poets working with the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center as well as historical examples of the form.
