The Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum at Saginaw Valley State University invites you to the 16th annual fundraising event “Saints, Sinners & Stars Virtual Gala” on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 7 to 9 PM. Taking its name from Fredericks’s impressive “Saints and Sinners” sculpture series, this year’s Gala will be held online from the comfort of your home, or backyard under the stars. Participants can enjoy their favorite beverage and hors d’oeuvres, while getting behind the scenes access to the Museum and playing fun games with prizes, all while showing their support for the Museum. “32 years ago, Marshall Fredericks gave his important artworks to Saginaw Valley State University to create a museum for the education and enjoyment of the Great Lakes Bay Community and beyond,” says Megan McAdow, director of the Museum, “And while the University covers a portion of our upkeep, the Museum must raise the rest – a substantial sum.” Though the physical doors of the Museum have been closed since mid-March, the Museum has continued their mission through online public programming and exhibitions in addition to creating and delivering over 4,500 Art @ Home activity kits to community youth including Midland-area flood victims. Financial support pays for everything that the Museum makes available to the community for free: Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Gallery & Sculptor’s Studio Jo Anne and Donald Petersen Sculpture Garden National and International Rotating Exhibitions Guided Tours & Education Programs for All Ages Community Outreach & Engagement Events And everything else that makes the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum an important community cultural and educational hub! Sure to be a memorable evening, the Museum seeks sponsorships of the Virtual Gala and looks forward to calling attention to the “stars” in the community including the many wonderful local businesses and organizations in the region. More information about sponsorship opportunities, various sponsorship levels, and donor benefits can be found at marshallfredericks.org. The Virtual Gala is free this year, but the community will have the opportunity to donate the traditional ticket cost of $100 to the Museum (tax deductible as allowed by law). Registration for the Virtual Gala and more information can be found at marshallfredericks.org. Registrants will be emailed a link to the online event before October 2. The Museum looks forward to the community’s attendance and financial support during the “Saints, Sinners & Stars Virtual Gala” which will help sustain Marshall Fredericks’s gift of art to all.
