Inclusive Welcome: A night of relationship building between the Church and LGBTQIA+ Community

Posted in: Happenings

The congregations of Zion Lutheran (Freeland,) and Our Saviour Lutheran (Saginaw Township,) would like to invite our brothers and sisters in the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as all who are supportive and loving, to an evening of conversation, education, prayers and stories- to begin the process of mending the relationship between the Church and LGBTQIA+ community, and to live into the call of being Reconciling in Christ Congregations. The evening will feature: A genuine invitation and welcome to worship at any local RIC congregation. A public confession of sins and ignorance from the Church to the LGBTQIA+ Community, and a declaration to strive toward becoming fully inclusive, safe spaces. Personal stories, of both harm and healing, experienced by the mingling of sexuality and faith. Resource sharing from community groups and organizations who support inclusive and safe spaces. Musical highlights from the Harmony Diversity Choir. Relationship building, singing, praying, food, and fellowship. Starts at 7 PM. Zion ELCA, 545 Seventh St., Freeland, MI
