Saginaw Valley State University welcomed Tiffin University back into the GLIAC with a 28-17 victory over the Cardinals.  Saginaw Valley coming off a stretch of 5 winning seasons now has started the 2014 campaign with two losses in a row.  The Cardinals have played two good teams fairly well but have nothing to show for it so far into the season.

The Cardinals for the second week in a row faced a tall and solid quarterback on the other side of the ball.  Antonio Pipkin who stands 6'3" tall completed 22 of 31 passes for 229 yards and one touchdown.   The young SVSU secondary is getting some experience early in the season.

Junior quarterback Keith Moore is getting thrown right into the fire without much experience during his  first 2 years at SVSU.  Moore did finish with 84 yards rushing and was 11of 23 in the passing department.   Allante Gardner had 96 yards on 16 carries.

Saginaw Valley now heads on the road to Michigan Tech in a always tough environment.  The Huskies have been playing well for the last few seasons and will test the young Cardinals now going into the heart of the Conference season.    The Cardinals drew another large crowd on a very nice evening under the lights at Wickes Stadium this past Saturday.
