The City of Saginaw's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Advisory Committee has released their funding recommendation report for the allocation of $25 million of the $52 million in funding that  the City received from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

You can view and download the full report here.

The ARPA Advisory Committee began meeting in March to plan and discuss the allocation of American Rescue Plan Act funds. The committee has worked diligently over the past six months to develop a strategic funding plan that reflects the community priorities established by City Council. This funding plan can be used by City Council to consider potential projects or category spending for which the City of Saginaw may use ARPA funds.

This plan will be presented by Guidehouse Consultants at the Monday, August 29 City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. City Council will have final approval on the allocation of ARPA funds. City Council is not expected to make any funding decisions at the August 29 meeting.

Council will carefully review the information presented in the final report and begin to make funding decisions in the near future. Applicants will be contacted once funding decisions are finalized and approved by City Council.

The recommendations consisted of the following:

Community Centers, Childcare, and Youth Development •  $10,000,000

Grocery Store Capital Investment •  $2,000,000

Housing Revitalization •  $4,000,000

Foster, Transition, and Elder Care •  $2,000,000

Saginaw Behavioral Health Clinic •  $5,000,000

Parks •  $1,500,000

Arts & Culture •  $1,000,000

Neighborhood Associations •  $1,600,000

Mayor Brenda Moore commented on the work of the ARPA Advisory Committee, “The advice and guidance of each ARPA Committee member has been critical throughout this process. I want to thank each member for their hard work and commitment to review the high volume of proposals and provide the recommendations contained in this report. I know a lot of thought went into this process. It is now the job of City Council to review the funding recommendations and begin to make final funding decisions.”
