Saginaw Valley State University drops football game to Ashland University

Cardinals lose 33-7 to #9 ranked Ashland University

Saginaw Valley State University came out like gang busters against #9 ranked Ashland University this past Saturday evening.  The Cardinals would score the first points of the game to take a 7-0 lead only to be held scoreless the rest of the way.   The Cardinals would hold tough though out the first half only trailing 17-7 at halftime.  

SVSU would score on a 43 yard pass from Brad Odeman Jr. to Marq Johnson on the second drive of the game.   The Ashland would run off the next 33 points for the final score of 33-7.   Saginaw Valley drops to 0-5 on the year while Ashland University moves to 5-0 and probably will move up in the NCAA Division II standings. 

Ashland's kicker Aiden Simenc would kick 4 field goals on the evening.   Ashland's quarterback  Travis Tarnowski would complete 26 passes of 45 attempts.  Ashland would pound out 445 yards on the night while SVSU would gain 163 yards.   Saginaw Valley State University will now host its Homecoming Game next Saturday against Lake Erie and Ashland will host Hillsdale College.
