Our community has suffered a great loss with the sudden passing of Sarah Parker on October 4. Sarah was well known to local music fans and many readers of the Review for her work as an event promoter, with the Indie Spot group and with C & C Entertainment. She was a regular nominee for the Review Music Awards individually and with Indie Spot, including a win in the category of Best Promoter this year.
To many in the area Sarah was also known as the organizer of countless benefits and fundraisers for people and families that had fallen on ill health or hard times. The personal connections that she formed made her a "go to" person for those in need of resources or referrals with their own events and activities.
A natural multi-tasker, Sarah was able to tell you exactly what she thought while simultaneously showing you how it was supposed to be done. In an age of critics and bystanders, Sarah was a woman who knew how to get results.
Only 42 at the time of her passing, Sarah was also the mother of two children and the soul mate of Charles Conley. Our thoughts are with them, her extended family and her many friends during this extremely difficult time
