The Toledo Mudhens play in one of the nicest baseball parks in America.   The Mudhens recently took on the Charlotte Knights in International League play at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo on a beautiful evening.   The game started with ideal weather at 65 sunny degrees with a light breeze blowing in from left field.

The Mudhens are the Detroit Tigers triple A affiliate in Minor League baseball which is the highest level before the players advance to the Major League for their respective teams.   This night they played the Charlotte Knights who are the Chicago White Sox affiliate.

At one point in the game the Mudhens had four players in the game who played at the MLB last season with the Tigers.   The entire outfield looked like it might be the outfield of the future for the Tigers with Quintin Berry in center, Avisail Garcia in right and Nick Castellanos in left field.   Casey Crosby was the starting pitcher and he had a 1-1 record with the Tigers last season.

Toledo defeated the Knights 4-2 today with the hitting power being supplied by Avisail Garcia with 2 hits.  Matt Hoffman would get the victory with just 1/3 inning of work.   Relievers Brayan Villareal and Bruce Rondon both saw action to finish up the Mudhens victory.  Both of these relievers were recently demoted back to Toledo to get more work.

4,119 fans were at Fifth Third Field to see the quick 2:25 minute game under idea conditions.   The ballpark faces downtown Toledo which give the fans a nice view during the course of the evening.    Around the ballpark are numerous restaurants and taverns (all new) to give the fans several choices to enjoy the evening in the safe environment of downtown Toledo.   All of this can be down at a very reasonable price.
