On Saturday December 12, 2015 the 2000 NCAA National Championship Men's Basketball team held a reunion at the Breslin Center.   All but two of the players from the National Championship team were present to hear the roar from the crowd at the Breslin Center.

Led by Mateen Cleaves, Morris Peterson and A. J. Granger the Spartans would finish the 2000 season by winning 19 of their last 21 games to clinch the National Championship.  Speaking to the media before the Florida vs. MSU game Mateen Cleaves spoke "of the brotherhood that the team had and covered each other's back."   He also mentioned that "the players stay in touch with each still today and relive the memories."

Saginaw's Jason Richardson who was a freshman on that team couldn't stop smiling when interviewed.   "That season was some of my best memories of my life.   Yes I'm proud of the Saginaw connection to MSU with myself and now Draymond Green today."  Richardson went on to say "that I really enjoyed my two years playing for Coach Izzo."

One could see the happiness of the entire team back together again to receive some more applause from the crowd again after a short video clip on the scoreboard.
