The Great Lakes Loons beat the South Bend Silverhawks (Arizona Diamondbacks) 5-2 in front of 4,063 fans at Four Winds Field in South Bend, Indiana this afternoon. Loons starter, Scott Barlow (6-5, 4.35 ERA) earned the win; allowing just 1-run, on 2-hits, and 4-BB, while striking out 3-batters through 5-innings of work. Cordero then jacked a solo home run in the eighth inning, finishing the day 2-for-4 with 3-RBI,1-run, a double, and a home run.

The Loons are currently tied with the Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds) and a half-game behind the Lake County Captains (Cleveland Indians).

The Great Lakes Loons will return to Dow Diamond this week to open a six-game home stand with a three-game home series against the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays) Tues, Wed, and Thurs; followed by another three-game home series against the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers) on Fri, Sat, and Sunday.
