The Great Lakes Loons continue to struggle in putting runs on the board early on in the 2015 season.  The Dayton Dragons in the first game of the weekend series raced out to an 6-0 lead going into the bottom of the eighth inning.   The Loons would push across a run in the 8th and 9th innings to make the 6-2 score final.

The Loons would gather 8 hits on the evening but couldn't put them together to get an runs which have been hard to come by recently.  Justin Chigbogu is now starting to come out of a minor slump by going 2 for 4 on the evening.  Victor Gonzalez was the starter for the Loons but only lasted 4 innings.   On the evening actually which was warm for the first time this season, the Loons make a few errors on the field.  During the cold weather they would play better defense.

So far this season the big names that you will want to keep an eye on are Alex Verdugo and Grant Holmes.  Both are very young players for the Midwest League and have moved along at a pace that I'm sure the Dodgers would like to see them making.   Los Angeles Dodgers executive Gabe Kapler has been in town to watch the team in action and see things first hand.
