The Great Lakes Loons jumped all over the Bowling Green Hot Rods in the completion of a suspended game from Wednesday night this afternoon at Dow Diamond.  The Loons destroyed the Hot Rods 15-1 after having the lead overnight 3-0 in the suspended game in Round 1 of the Midwest League playoffs.    The Loons pitching staff shut down the hot hitting Bowling Green team until the 7th inning when they scored a meaningless run.   Dean Kremer would get the win by pitching 3 innings of relief work and allowing the one run.

The bats were alive on Thursday afternoon in the completion of the game played in front of about 400 loyal fans.  The announced attendance was from the Wednesday night crowd of 1,480.    Great Lakes would score 5 runs in both the 5th and 6th innings to put the game out of reach by getting 6 hits in each innings.  Nothing that Bowling Green threw at the Loons worked on this muggy afternoon.

Some of the hitting stars for Great Lakes included catcher Jake Henson who would drill 3 doubles on the day.   The Loons scoring the most runs in a playoff game in Loons history also won their first playoff game since 2010.  Omar Estevez and Gage Green both would have three hits on the afternoon.    Great Lakes would have 20 hits on the day and make the long drive to Bowling Green more enjoyable.    They now only need to win of the two games in Kentucky to advance to round 2 of the Midwest League playoffs.
