The Great Lakes Loons return to the friendly confines of Dow Diamond to play a long home stand with 8 games in the next 6 days.   This would be a great time to get out to the Dow and see some exciting Midwest League action.  The Hot Rods come into town just that Hot with an 8-3 record.

Hot Rod starting pitcher was outstanding against the Loons on a cool evening at the Dow.   Jeff Ames a first round draft choice would pitch 5 innings with 8 strikeouts and no runs allowed.   The Hot Rods would defeat the Loons in a rather quick 9 inning game 2-0.

Great Lakes off to a 5-4 start in the 2013 campaign are getting some good play from 3rd baseman Paul Hoenecke and catcher Tyler Ogle.   Hoenecke is batting .424 and Ogle is hitting away at .417 in the young season.   I can see a different style of baseball under Manager Razor Shines this season.  The team will hustle and play hard for the entire 9 innings.

The announced attendance for this game was at 1.074 people but fewer than 200 people in the ballpark on this cool night.  Still the staff at the Dow would let you know that they appreciated you coming out for the ballgame.   It must be a policy of most of the teams in the Midwest League to announce attendance on actual tickets sold to the season ticket holders also.
