The Great Lakes Loons kept their hot streak alive tonight with a 4-3 win over the Lake County Captains.   The Loons scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th inning.  Julian Leon drilled a single to the outfield to score Alex Santana from second base to take the lead.   Loons closer Kyle Hooper came on to pitch the last two innings and shut down the Captains to seal the victory.   Hooper moves to 3-0 on the season.

The Loons now winners of the 17 out of 19 games have climbed back into Playoff Contention for the Midwest League.  They are currently in a tie for second place 1/2 game behind the Lansing Lugnuts with four games to play in the first half of the season.  The top two teams of each half qualify for the season ending playoffs in the Midwest League.

Kelvin Ramos paced the Loons at the plate with 3 hits in front of a good sized crowd of 4,564 fans at the Dow Diamond.   The Loons are now 37-27 in the first half of play.  The game started under windy conditions with starter Grant Holmes pitching well until the fifth inning when the rains came.   He had a no-hitter into the 5th.
