FNV Griffins move into second place in MMHC with 9-1 mercy over SCF

The FNV Griffins H.S. hockey team improved its conference record to 2-0, moving into second place in the Mid-Michigan Hockey Conference (5-2 overall) with a 9-1 mercy victory over Swartz Creek/Clio/Flushing H.S. at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena Wednesday evening. 
 
FNV senior Kenny Kujawa (4-goals), junior Adam Rivette (2-goals, 2-assists), and freshman Brendan Maly (2-goals, 2-assists) paced the Griffins' offensive attack with 4-points each respectively. 
 
Senior defenseman Tanner Hare added 1-goal and 1-assist, while four other FNV players also had 2-points apiece. 
 
Junior's Conner King and John Paul LeFevre; along with sophomore's Trey Morgan and Aidan West, each added 2-assists apiece respectively as well. 
 
FNV senior goal tender Ben Younglao turned away 10 of the 11 shots he faced through two and a half periods, before senior Brendan Schrems finished out the third period, stopping both shots he would face in the third.
 
The Griffins will now look to take over the top spot in the MMHC when it takes on the conferences first place team, Lakeville Alliance (3-0, 6-1 overall) Saturday night in a 7 pm face off at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena.
