The Tigers failed to clinch the Central Division in front of a sold out crowd at Comerica Park on Sunday.  The Chicago White Sox would prove to be the spoiler in beating the Tigers 6-3.  The Tigers who celebrate with the fans on drawing over 3 million fans to the ballpark in 2013 for the 2nd year in a row.  The fans had come to watch a celebration that didn't materialize with the Cleveland Indians winning on this day.

Tiger starter Anibal Sanchez proved to be human on this day by giving up a few runs after leading the American League all season with the lowest ERA of just 2.50.   Manager Jim Leyland would give a number of regulars the day off after taking the first two games of the series against the White Sox.  All the Tigers have to do in the last week of the 2013 season is win two games or have Cleveland Indians lose two games and they will repeat as Central Division Champions.

Prince Fielder would provide the only bright spot on the day by hitting another monster home run to right field.  The Tigers now head to Minnesota for 3 games and then National League rival the Miami Marlins to finish out the season.  This will give Manager Jim Leyland time to rest a starter or two to get them ready for the American League Divisional Series for the 3rd year in a row.  Their is still some more excitement to be played at Comerica Park yet this year.  I see the Tigers making another run all the way to the World Series again and most likely playing the red hot Los Angeles Dodgers.
