The Detroit Tigers are flying high in the American League Central Division.   Coming into this contest with the Minnesota Twins the Tigers have won 6 games in a row.   Anibal Sanchez will be making the start after his 17 strikeout game.   All of the Tiger bats are now starting to click on all cylinders from top to bottom of the line-up.

On a perfect day at Comerica Park Anibal Sanchez struggled in the first two innings throwing 52 pitches and giving up 3 runs early to the Twins.  After that Sanchez settled down finished with 6 strong innings and 9 strikeouts.  However the Tiger bats went quiet on this get away day.  The Tigers were going for the sweep of the Twins but would end up dropping the game 6-2.  Miguel Cabrera continued his hot hitting with 2 hits and his 29th league leading RBI.

Detroit would finish this most recent home stand with a 6-2 record before embarking on a 6 game road trip to Houston and then the red-hot Washington Nationals.  The Tigers received great crowds at all of the home game on this home stand.

Several Tigers will be considered for Player of the Month for April from MLB.   Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and  Tori Hunter all have great months hitting.    Doug Fister,  Max Schrezer and Anibal Sanchez each pitched beyond expectations during the first month of the season.  Things promise to get real interesting this summer down at the ball park.  Several dates have already been sold out so a word to the wise to get your tickets early.   I again see the Tigers competing in the 2013 World Series against one of two opponents either the Washington Nationals or the San Francisco Giants.
