The Detroit Pistons limped into the Palace for the second home game of the season against the Orlando Magic after finishing a long road trip.  The Pistons entered the game with a 1-8 record and were hoping to draw a good size crowd for the Friday night game.  However with some unseasonably nice weather deterred from a good crowd at the Palace.   Several new faces will dot the line-up this year for 2nd year Head Coach Lawrence Frank.

2nd year star player Greg Monroe will be leading the Pistons in 2012 and beyond.  The team has placed the leadership on his shoulders for the next decade.   Brandon Knight and Kyle Singler will lead the team to new heights once they get use to each other.   The head coach has used several different combinations so far in the young season to see how the players work with each other.  None have been to successful to this point.

The Pistons would have several leads through out the game.  But when it became crunch time the Pistons could not come up with the big shot or rebound.  The team started out hot in first quarter to get the crowd excited.

The bulk of the team is now made up of younger players moving the Pistons down the road for some future championship runs.   Andre Drummond, Kim English, Khris Middleton and Viacheslav Kravtsov don't have me too excited yet.

Halftime entertainment this year will be singers and groups from a few years ago to provide the crowd with some additional entertainment.   Tonight's act was Bobby Brown (Whitney Houston's ex-husband) belting out three songs quickly.  I see this is going to be a long season at the Palace and it would be something if the Pistons qualified for the playoffs this year.  With the way things are going for the Detroit Lions and no hockey so far this season it will be a long winter here in the State of Michigan.

The Pistons did drop the game to the Orlando Magic 110- 106.  Kyle Singler scored 14 points and Brandon Knight had a double-double with 10 points and 12 assists.   I think that I will be visiting the Palace again this season to see the visiting teams again.
