Central Michigan University played its final home game of the 2016 season in front of a national television audience against the Ohio University Bobcats.   Ohio came into the game with 7-3 record and looked like they would play a strong game against the Chippewas.    CMU reeling in a 3 game losing streak needed a win in it's final two games to become Bowl Eligible for the 2016 campaign.   With the conference championship out of reach the Chippewas looked to get their 6th win of the season to be able to compete in a Bowl game.

Central Michigan dominated the scoreboard in the 1st half leading 17-3 going into the locker room by giving a late field goal to the Bobcats.    Ohio came roaring out of the locker room to tie the score in the 3rd period at 20-20.   Central Michigan now would score the game winning touchdown with 5:51 left in the fourth quarter on a one handed catch by Tyler Conklin.  He would have two touchdown catches on the night.   Cooper Rush playing in his final game at Kelly/Shorts Stadium would have a strong game by going 25 out of 32 passing for 268 yards.   Corey Willis would lead the Chips with 8 catches for 109 yards.

The Chippewas now play their final game of the season against the upstart Eastern Michigan Eagles on Black Friday.   The Eagles are  in the middle of a good season that already sees them bowl eligible with a 6-4 record to this point.   This game will be a good test in determining on what level of Bowl Game they might receive for second year Head Coach John Bonamego.  He has gotten CMU into a Bowl Game eligible status for second straight season.
