The Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission, in partnership with the Saginaw Public Schools, will present the annual Student Art Exhibit, Celebrating Saginaw’s Cultures: Building Unity through Diversity. Student artwork will be on display through noon, January 31 at the Andersen Enrichment Center, 120 Ezra Rust Drive, Saginaw. The exhibit will be open for viewing Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  A reception and award ceremony will be held Thursday, January 30 beginning at 5:30 p.m. with extended viewing from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. that evening

Saginaw Public School students, grades 3 – 12, work on creating a piece of artwork for the exhibit and competition over a multi-week period. Students develop their composition using the elements of art and the principles of design with a statement of learning attached to each piece of art. Categories include drawing, painting, design, 3D functional, 3D non-functional, and body adornment. All participating students receive ribbons, prizes are awarded to category winners and rosettes to community award winners.

The Celebrating Saginaw’s Cultures Student Art Exhibit is presented by Family First Credit Union and sponsored by the Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission, Saginaw Public Schools, Nexteer Automotive, Harvey Randall Wickes Foundation, Jury Foundation, Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the CK Eddy Family Memorial Fund.

The Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission encourages and supports organizations and activities, which enhance and promote the cultural and economic vitality of Saginaw and the Great Lakes Bay Area.
