The Story of Mershon & Morley Portable Homes

Posted in: Instructional

Join us for a FREE & VIRTUAL event on Tuesday, June 15 at 7 PM hosted by Tom Trombley, our Chief Historian! Patented in 1899 by two Saginaw businessmen, John M. Morley and William B. Mershon, this innovative prefabricated housing system was remarkably flexible. Standardized panels were utilized to create structures ranging from summer cottages to churches. Manufactured in Carrolton, Mershon and Morley Portable Houses were sold throughout the United States and abroad!
