Hoyt Park Warming House Dedication

The Hoyt Park warming house, located at 1574 S. Washington, is now listed in the State of Michigan Historic Building Registry. The Friends of Hoyt Park Committee will host a special ceremony at Hoyt Park on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 11 am in recognition of this significant honor. Members from the Michigan Historical Commission, a division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, will also be in attendance on October 11 for the presentation of the marker commemorating the 80 year old historic building. The Hoyt Park building received the award with the support of several community organizations such as the Saginaw Historic Society, Saginaw Community Foundation, and the Saginaw Questors who assisted with the application process. Larry Brethauer, President of the Friends of Hoyt Park Committee, commented on the community support throughout this application process, “I am so grateful to Tom Mudd and many others for the guidance and assistance during this application process. Without their support and direction, we would not be receiving this recognition.”
