Friday Flicks Film Series • The Bookshop (2017)

Posted in: Cinema

Fom director Isobel Coixet (My Life Without Me) comes this charming 2017 rumination on the pleasures of reading. A widow, played by Emily Mortimer, decides to open up a bookstore in a small seaside town in 1950's England but her location is desired by the village dowager, played by Patricia Clarkson, who's hoping to transform the location into a historical landmark. Fans of independent and foreign cinema, arthouse films, and French comedies will enjoy this new film series held in the screening room at Butman-Fish Library. All films are free to the public, no reservations needed and coffee is provided. The screening room has space for 50 people and offers a new entertainment alternative to view world-class art and Indie films with others. Starts at 2 PM. 1716 Hancock St., Saginaw. Phone 989-799-9160 for more info.
