A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams

Posted in: Theatre

Pit & Balcony kicks off their 92nd Season with Tennessee Williams riveting play that reveals a deep journey into the character of Blanche DuBois - a woman whose life has been undermined by her romantic illusions, which lead her to reject the realities of life with which she is faced and which she consistently ignores. The pressure brought to bear upon her by her sister, with whom she goes to live in New Orleans, intensified by her earthy and extremely “normal” brother in-law, leads to a revelation of her tragic self-delusion and, in the end, to madness. Winner of the 1948 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Showtime is 7:30 pm; with 3:00 pm Sunday matinees. Pit & Balcony, 805 N. Hamilton St., Saginaw. Tickets $20.00. Phone 989-754-6587.
