A Specific Place: Nancy Holt's Annual Ring & the Permanence of Outdoor Sculpture

In 1980 Holt created 'Annual Ring', an outdoor sculpture designed for one specific location: the rooftop of the Saginaw Federal Building. Within 20 years later that building was destroyed and Holt's piece moved to SVSU. Nick Hartigan will talk about the creative and practical effort required to bring 'Annual Ring' to life as well as the artistic and cultural ramifications of its rescue and relocation. $22 admission includes dinner from Sullivans.
