On a sunny but crisp Friday Football afternoon the Toledo Rockets totally manhandled the Eastern Michigan Eagles in their final MAC Conference game.   The Rockets jumped out to a 42-9 halftime lead and never looked back.

Toledo ended EMU's first drive with an interception and scored two plays later on a 41 yard pass.   Toledo would add another quick passing touchdown with 11 minutes left in the 1st quarter to put the game out of reach.   Eastern Michigan would enter the game with a 2-9 record going against the Rockets would still had an outside chance for the Western Division title if North Illinois would lose at WMU today.   That game was on national television with a 11:00a.m. kickoff.

It truly was a "Black Friday" for the Eagles against the Rockets who would out gain Eastern by just about 300 yards.  The Rockets would have 513 yards on total offense against the Eagles 215 yards.

With the win the Rockets would end at 7-1 in conference play in the tough Western Division and tied with the Northern Illinois Huskies who would defeat Western Michigan 31-21.  That would give N.I. a 7-1 record but the title by having defeated Toledo in the head to head match-up.

Toledo's Logan Woodside looked very sharp on the day and will lead his Rockets into a Bowl game this post season.   Northern Illinois will face Bowling Green in the Mid American Conference Championship game at Ford Field in Detroit on Friday December 5th.   The MAC has 6 teams that are Bowl eligible this season.  Probably 5 will be selected to play another game in 2014.
