The Detroit Tigers took out the Miami Marlins 10-3 by starting to hit the ball like they mean it.   The Tigers had 15 hits on the sunny hot afternoon at Comerica Park in front of 31,760 fans.   Detroit finished the 9 game home stand with a 6-3 record to move to 40-38 on the season.   The Tigers now hit the road for an 11 game road trip in 11 days.

Miguel Cabrera and Jarred Saltalamacchia each stroked 3 hits and both having a home run.   The Tigers had 3 home runs on the day for the second day in a row with Steven Moya hitting a home run in the 15 hit attack.  Ian Kinsler, Cameron Maybin and Victor Martinez all had two hits apiece in building up an early lead and never looking back.

The star of the day and probably didn't get the recognition as he should would be starting pitcher Daniel Norris who pitched 5 innings.   He picked up the win for his 1st victory this season to go along with his 8 strikeouts.    Veteran 42 year old Miami Marlin star Ichiro Suzuki closing in on 3,000 hits in the Majors had 2 hits on the day for the Marlins who dropped to 41-37.  Manager Brad Ausmus went to his bullpen early and made the right moves today to preserve the victory for the Tigers as they head out of town.
