The Saginaw Spirit will host in-state rival, the Plymouth Whalers at the Dow Event Center in downtown Saginaw tonight in a pivotal west division matchup in the OHL’s western conference. The two teams are currently tied for third place in the division with 14 points apiece; while the winner of tonight’s game will make a jump into a tie for second place with the Windsor Spitfires (16 points).
After a less than stellar September (1- win and 4-losses, for 2-points) the Spirit have been on fire in the month of October, earning 12-of a possible-18 points, with a 5-2-1-1 record for the month. Tonight’s game with Plymouth is the third-of a five game- home stretch. The Spirit will be looking to finish October like they started (with a win) and carry that winning into November; where they will host Owen Sound Friday November, 1 and the west division leading Sault Sainte Marie Greyhounds on Saturday November, 2 at the Dow. As usual, all home games will start at 7:11 p.m.
