Spirit bounce back with 4-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves

After a 6-2 loss to the Barrie Colts last night, the Spirit responded with a 4-2 road win tonight.....

After a tough loss to the Barrie Colts last night, the Saginaw Spirit (23-17-3-0) responded with a 4-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves (12-27-6-0) at the Sudbury Community Arena in Sudbury, ON tonight. 
 
Saginaw took the first lead of the game when over age forward Mason Kohn (12) was awarded a penalty shot and promptly beat Sudbury goal tender Jake McGrath to give the Spirit a 1-0 lead at 16:55 of the first period.
 
Midway through the second period, the Spirit took advantage of a Sudbury penalty when Cole Coskey (21) redirected a Marcus Crawford shot from the point for a power play goal to give Saginaw a 2-0 lead at 11:52 of the second period. Kohn also assisted on Coskey's power play goal. 
 
The Wolves managed to tie the game at 2-goals apiece later in the second period when Kyle Rhodes (9) and Blake Murray (12) scored back to back goals just 13-seconds apart at 19:09 and 19:22 of the second period respectively. 
 
Just 7-seconds after coming out of the box for a 2-minute interference penalty, Spirit forward Max Grondin (6) scored the eventual game-winner with assists coming from Damien Giroux and D.J. Busdeker, giving the Spirit a 3-2 lead at 8:55 of the third period. 
 
In the final 15-seconds of the game, Coskey (22) scored his second of the night, an empty-netter from Giroux and Kohn to round out the scoring (4-2) for the Spirit. 
 
Spirit goal tender Cam Lamour earned his fifth victory of the season, stopping 28 of the 30 shots he saw in net, while McGrath turned away 28 of the 31 shots he faced in net for Sudbury. 
 
The Spirit have tomorrow off, before heading to North Bay, ON for a 2 pm road game against the North Bay Battalion at North Bay Memorial Gardens Sunday afternoon.
