Excitement is building as thousands of people prepare to flock to downtown when the night lights up in Riverfront Saginaw on Sept. 23.

Huntington Event Park is set to host rock legends ZZ Top at 7:05 p.m., and country star Wynonna Judd performs at Temple Theatre at 7:30 p.m. The Saginaw Spirit also host the London Knights for their 2017-18 home opener at 7:05 p.m., while renowned artist David Zinn creates 3D art installations on buildings and in popular areas surrounding all the events.

"Huntington Event Park is excited to be bringing ZZ Top for Saturday night's concert," noted Dow Event Center General Manager Matt Blasey. "This will be the fourth Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame act that we've brought the event park over the past two years."

“The chamber and its entire membership are excited about the world-class events that are coming to Riverfront Saginaw,” Saginaw Chamber of Commerce President Bob Van Deventer said.“We anticipate standing room only at the downtown venues -- restaurants, coffee shops and bars -- before and after the events.”

On that Saturday, more than 10,000 are expected to attend a series of events that caters to virtually anyone. Whether you like rock or country, the arts or sports, there’ll be something for everyone.

“The fact that all of these venues are coming together really shows the momentum in Riverfront Saginaw,” Van Deventer said. "Riverfront Saginaw is the heart of the entertainment district, encompassing both sides of the river; much more than a brand it is a state of mind."These are exciting times," commented Craig Goslin of The Saginaw Spirit. "Riverfront Saginaw is the safest area in the Great Lakes Bay Region to enjoy an evening on the town, and the statistics back this up. The Spirit is delighted to be introducing a new state-of-the-art light show and viewing sceens that rival anything that the NHL has and is alone worth the price of admission."
