The Detroit Pistons played the final regular season game at home on Tuesday against the Miami Heat.   The Heat would prevail 99-93 in a game that would see the Pistons rest some of their starters for the upcoming NBA Playoffs.   The Pistons now finish the season by traveling to Cleveland the team that they will face in the Playoffs in the 1st round.    The Pistons at 43-38 are the number 8 seed in the Eastern Division and will face the number 1 seed Cleveland Cavaliers.

Reggie Jackson one of the top players for the Pistons in the 2016 campaign got the night off in getting him some rest for the upcoming playoffs.   Owner Tom Gore spoke to the press prior to the game.   "I'm extremely happy that we made the first step in getting to the Playoffs again after a 7 year break."   The Pistons had several chances to pull out the victory against the Heat but just couldn't get over the hump.   All of the Pistons reserves got several minutes of playing time to get tuned up for the Playoffs.

Kenatvious Caldwell-Pope lead the Pistons with 17 points.  He was followed by Andre Drummond who would pull down 18 rebounds and add 9 points.  It was fan appreciation night at the Palace seeing the team give away numerous gifts through the course of the evening to another good sized crowd at the Palace.   It is starting to remind me of the days in the early 2000's when you couldn't get a seat.   I can see the Pistons getting sell out crowds for the first two games of the Playoffs against the King LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
