Bay City Western's 2012 "Mr. Basketball" is enjoying a good start to the of the Michigan State University basketball season.  The Spartans are currently ranked #1 in the country with a  perfect 11 - 0 record.

Matt has seen his playing time increase in all four years in playing at MSU.   The power forward is have a good season with his playing time at almost 20 minutes per game.    He has averaged 7.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.   Slightly higher than his totals for the first three years at MSU.

Costello is also a shot changer for the opposing teams.   He is sixth all time on MSU's blocked shot with 104 coming into the 2015-2016 season.   The Spartans goal this season is to win the National Championship.   The senior's all around hustle will most likely make him a future NBA prospect after his senior season.
