The Great Lakes Loons bats came out of a slump on Wednesday afternoon at the Dow Diamond.   The Loons playing one of their Education Day games in front of 5,009 mainly school age fans beat the Dayton Dragons 8-1.   The Loons have been silent the last two nights in being shut out both times by the Dragons 2-0 and 1-0.

Paul Hoenecke busted things wide open with a 3 run Home Run in the 6th inning to take a 5-1 lead and never look back.  The game was delayed by a 45 minute rain delay in starting the game.    The 2 hour and 26 minute game moved right along with the running Loons again increasing their league lead in stolen bases.

Dayton came into the game in 1st place and having owned the Loons this season never got things going.   Loons starter Zac Bird would pick up his second win on the season as the Loons moved to 16-17 on the season.   The Loons now go to South Bend for a 3 game series and having next Sunday (Mother's Day) off before returning to the Dow.
