The Public Libraries of Saginaw is kicking off the New Year with a new program designed for adults who want to better themselves.

Adults, ages 18 and up, can either register for the "New Year, New You!" winter reading challenge online at www.saginawlibrary.org or pick up a bingo-style reading record curbside at Hoyt or Zauel libraries between January 1 and February 15.

Registrants will have until February 28 to complete reading challenges like completing "a book set in two different time periods," or "a classic you've been meaning to read" and marking off squares to make a bingo. Those who complete the challenge will be entered into a grand prize drawing.

"The new year brings the opportunity to set goals for ourselves. We want to challenge you to expand your reading horizons and read across a range of genres and formats," Marketing Librarian Lynn Heitkamp said.

The library is also planning a full slate of online programs under the "New Year, New You!" banner that will help patrons with their New Year's resolutions.

More information and links to each program are available on the library's events calendar at www.saginawlibrary.org/events, or will be posted to the library's Facebook page as noted.
