Tigers drop 11-4 contest to division rival  Chicago White Sox.    The Tigers returned home from a very successful 11 game road trip only to drop the first game to the White Sox.  2013 All-Star selection Justin Verlander pitched a strong 7 innings and was left in the game by manager Jim Leyland to start the 8th innings.  Verlander had thrown 100 pitches and didn't look the usual dominating self against the lowly White Sox.   Then the wheels feel off the cart with Verlander giving up four straight hits and would leave the game being tagged for 5 runs in the end.

Detroit had only 4 hits and 1 run through 7 innings with Matt Tuiasosopo hitting a home run for the Tigers.   The game started with a 40 minute rain delay and still drew a large crowd to Comerica Park for the 1st place Central Division leading Tigers.

The last place White Sox would send 13 batters to the plate in the 8th inning and 9 batters in the 9th inning.  They would score 10 runs in those innings.   The Tiger relievers could do nothing right in giving up hit after hit.   The Tigers looked plain out flat in this contest.  They could never get anything going until the 8th inning when Miguel Cabrera would hit his 29th home run and drive in two more runs for a league leading 92 RBI's.

The Cleveland Indians would win tonight and stay in 2nd place 2 1/2 games behind the Tigers.   The Tigers will finish out at home with 5 more home games before the All-Star break in which the Tigers will have 6 players going along with Manager Jim Leyland.  Both Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander will have one start before heading to Citigo Field in New York City for the 2013 All-Star game .   The Tigers are still in first place and not running totally away with the Central Division like everyone expects them too.
