Bay City Wolves defeat Flint Powers in 1-0 game

In a showdown between two of the better High School hockey teams in the Great Lakes Bay region the Bay City Wolves faced off with Flint Powers.   The game was very evenly contested until mid way through the 2nd period when the Bay City Wolves' Alex Topping scored the only goal of the game.    The Wolves would end up defeating Flint Powers 1-0.    Powers came into the contest highly ranked with an 11-2 record. 

Both teams play several underclassman in their starting line-ups.   Bay City Wolves head coach Mike Kayner draws players from Bay City Central and Bay City Western High Schools.   Both goalies played outstanding games with Alex Wlodarczak stopping 32 shots in the shut out.   Powers Austin Kane would stop 17 shots from the Wolves. 

Bay City Wolves features several players who will be drawing some looks from college coaches to play after their High School careers are finished.   Dominic Zanotti a senior defenseman lead the Wolves on the evening matching up with the top Powers players and keeping them in check.  The Wolves also feature a pair of brothers who are making some waves this season.   Junior Hunter David along with Freshman brother Tyler David have had long amateur experience to give the Wolves a strong defensive unit.   The Wolves improved to 5-3 on the season with several tough tournament still on the schedule.
