The Great Lakes Loons 2-1 victory moved them to 33-25 in the 2nd half of the Midwest League season and kept them in the hunt for the final playoff spot.  The Loons would remain hitless through the 5th inning.   However when they scored one run in the 6th inning that would be all they needed.   Starter Zac Bird who it the number 15 prospect in the Dodgers organization keep the Loons in the game with 6 strong innings.

The Loons now remain a 1 1/2 ahead of the Dayton Dragons for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Division of the Midwest League.   If the Loons make the playoffs it would be a remarkable turn around for Manager Razor Shines club.   Lansing now falls to 24 -34 in the second half of play and will not make the playoffs in 2013.

Wester Rivas doubled down the right field line to drive in the first run of the night for the Loons.  The Loons would score again in the 8th inning with the go ahead run on a triple by Brandon Trinkwon and RBI single from James Baldwin.  The very quick game lasted on 2 hours and 19 minutes.
