Great Lakes Loons win 1st round over Bowling Green 5-2 in deciding game #3

Bowling Green, Kentucky - The Great Lakes Loons advance to the Eastern Division Finals against the West Michigan Whitecaps tomorrow (Sunday September 11, 2016 @ 7:05p.m at Dow Diamond.    The Loons won an exciting game tonight 5-2 against the Hot Rods after trailing most of the game 2-1.   However the Loons busted loose for 2 runs in both the 7th and 8th innings to take a 5-2 lead which they would not give up. 

Leading the Loons tonight with the 12 hit attack was Omar Estevez with 3 hits and Saige Jenco, Luke Raley and Logan Landon with 2 hits each.   Leo Crawford would pitch 5 inning in the middle of the game to pick up the win.  The Loons' bats got hot at the right time now getting 40 hits in the 2-1 series win over the Hot Rods.  

With a small crowd in attendance of 437 in Bowling Green the Loons make the long bus trip back to Midland to start the second round of the playoffs against the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers affiliate).  The Whitecaps were 2-1 series winners over the South Bend Cubs.  The Loons now won their first playoff series since 2010.
