The 1st Place Great Lakes Loons drop a nightmare game to the Peoria Chiefs (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) 13-4.  The game had the Loons down by a score of 5-4 heading into the 9th inning on this hot, sunny and muggy day at Dow Diamond.  The Loons are again playing good baseball and Razor Shines had a good game on his hands until the top of the 9th inning.

Peoria would score 8 runs in the inning to pull away from the Loons this afternoon.   This would disappoint many in attendance on this fun day at the ball park.  The big blow for the Chiefs would be Jordan Walton's 3 run home run.  The 3,296 then started to head for the exits after the blast.   The Loons will either remain in a tie for 1st place in the 2nd half depending on the outcome of the Bowling Green Hot Rods game.   Or they would be in 2nd place with a 15-9 record.

Great Lakes plays the final game of the 3 game series tomorrow at 7:05p.m. @ Dow Diamond.  Then they will be on the road for a 6 game road trip and a couple of off days in the Midwest League.   They return home to Dow Diamond on Wednesday July 24, 2013 for another promotional give-away.
