Great Lakes defeats Dayton in 7-6 walk off win

MIDLAND, MI - The Great Lakes Loons scored an exciting come from behind win tonight over the Dayton Dragons at the Dow Diamond.  Trailing 6-4 going into the bottom of the eighth inning the Loons rallied for 2 runs in the 8th and the walk off run in the bottom of the ninth for a 7-6 win.   In front of a sold out crowd(5,842) the Loons tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fourth with a 3 run home run from Eric Meza.

Leading the Loons tonight were Noah Perio with 3 of the 8 Loons hits and he also scored the game winning run.  Alex Burgos pitched 2 strong innings of relief work with 2 strikeouts to hold the Loons in the game.   Burgos notched the Loons who evened the series at 1-1 with the rubber game tomorrow at Dow Diamond at 2:00p.m.  Shed Long lead the Dayton Dragons with 3 hits.  

Omar Esteves tied the game in the 8th inning with a 2 run blast to tie the score at 6-6.   The Loons rally started in the ninth after 2 strikeouts with a walk and a stolen base for Noah Perio.   That set the stage for Luke Raley to stroke an rbi single to win the game for the Loons.   Great Lakes now stands at 7-9 in the second half and 36-50 overall in the 2016 campaign.
