The Detroit Tigers AA affiliate the Erie Seawolves play in the Eastern League of MILB.   The Seawolves play them games at Jerry Uht Park in downtown Erie about a 1/2 away from Lake Erie.   The Seawolves who are a little under .500 so far in the season at 17-21 would be taking on the 1st place Akron team coming in at 27-13.

The game would start under sunny skies with the game time temperature at 51 degrees.  The Seawolves have a couple of connections to the 1984 Detroit Tigers World Championship team with Lance Parrish as the manager.    Marcus Lemon the starting 2nd baseman is the son of former Tiger Chet Lemon and former Tiger Tom Brookens was the manager in Eric just 3 short years ago.

Erie starting pitcher Kyle Ryan would go 6.2 innings giving up no earned runs in the 2-1 Seawolves victory.   The Seawolves would have Jason Krizan and Francisco Martinez both getting two hits on the evening.   As it is in AA baseball about 3 or 4 of these players can expect to make it to the Major League level in 2 to 3 years.   I didn't see anyone that really stood out during this game.   As is the case in Minor League baseball the team runs several promotions during the course of the game to get the crowd interacting with the team.

I always enjoy getting to the Tiger's affiliates over the course of the summer to see the players that will be up and coming in the Detroit organization down the road.   A very quiet and laid back evening at Jerry Uht Park in downtown Erie, PA.
