Dodgers' sixth round pick Robinson gives Loons boost as team returns for home series against Lake County

The Great Lakes Loons return to Dow Diamond tonight after a 7-day road trip where it took 3 of 4 games from the Kane County (IL.)) Cougars (Arizona Diamondbacks) before dropping 2 of 3 games to the Clinton (IA.) LumberKings (Seattle Mariners) this weekend. 
 
The Loons (16-20) have won 7 of its last 12 games in the month of May and will be looking to get closer to .500 with a sweep of the Lake County (OH.) Captains (Cleveland Indians) starting tonight.
 
The Los Angeles Dodgers' 2016 sixth round pick out of Ole Miss, shortstop Errol Robinson is off to a good start since joining the Loons from the Dodgers' rookie league team, the Ogden (UT.) Raptors on Thursday May, 11 in Clinton, IL for a game against the LumberKings. 
 
The 22 year old Robinson is hitting .286 in his short time with the Loons after hitting .282 with Ogden during the 2016 rookie league. 
 
The Dodgers' top prospect, 19 year old Gavin Lux, who was drafted in the first round, 20th overall, in the 2016 MLB draft out of Indian Trail h.s. in Kenosha, WI has his bat back on track after a rough start.
 
After hitting just .129 in the month of April for the Loons, Lux had a big night, going 4 for 5 with an RBI on Thursday night against Clinton and is now hitting .243 in the month of May, raising his overall average up to .191 for the season.  
 
Catcher Keibert Ruiz (.293) and Brendon Davis (.283) lead the Loons in batting, while slugger Carlos Rincon (8) continues to lead the Midwest League in home runs with eight dingers. 
 
The Loons will host the Captains for the first of a three game series (Mon-Wed) at 7:05 pm tonight at Dow Diamond.
