The Great Lakes Loons this season is offering the baseball fans in the Great Lakes Bay region a chance to meet some of the all-time great Dodger players.   Just recently two of the Dodgers heroes from years past appeared at the Dow.   First in was Ramon Martinez yes the younger brother of Pedro Martinez.   Ramon crafted out a fine 13 year MLB career with 3 different teams but the balance (10 years) with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ramon appeared at the Dow Diamond to meet the press, be interviewed on the pre-game radio show by broadcaster Brad Golder, throw out the first pitch of the game and then go to the concourse to sign autographs for the fans.   He poised for pictures with the fans.  He had a career record of 135 - 88 and appeared in the 1990 All-Star game.  He also threw a no-hitter on July 14, 1995.

The second of the Legends to appear this summer was a player from my era Tommy Davis.  Tommy Davis had a remarkable career that spanned 18 years with 10 different teams and playing for the Dodgers from 1959 -1966.   The Dodgers won the World Series twice while Tommy Davis was a member.    While at the Dow Tommy sat and signed autographs for all who came up young and old.   He also was more than happy to have his picture taken with any one who asked.

The Loons are doing a great job this season in bringing fans out to Dow Diamond by bringing in heroes from the past for fans to remember the golden days of baseball.   So grab your Loons schedule and make plans to come out to the Dow for the next Dodger Legend to stop by.
