The Detroit Tigers held a short ceremony honoring their former manager Jim Leyland on a sunny day at Comerica Park in front of a sold out crowd.   Leyland had managed the Tigers from 2006 thru the 2013 campaign leading them to the World Series twice.

Leyland had over 700 wins as manager of the Tigers in that time.   Taking part in honoring him were two of his favorite players with the team Miguel Cabrera and Justin Verlander.   General Manager Dave Dombrowski lead the ceremony telling of Leyland's time with the team.

Their was a short video clip of the years and highlights of Leyland's time.   Owner Mike Ilitch presented Leyland with a very nice painting of Leyland riding on the shoulders of his player's.   Jim Leyland also threw out the first pitch of the game something that he always wanted to do.   It was a short and sweet ceremony.
